Music Icon is blending the learning benefits of music education software with the entertainment value of popular music-themed video games. They are developing an application suite that enables users to learn and play along with well-known songs in a wholly new way. Music Icon’s software allows users to change the key, tempo and other aspects of a song to better suit their learning needs as they play along to a host of interactive features such as animated guitar tablature and professionally instructed video segments. The system also features a web-based online store where users can purchase “songpacks”, pre-packaged bundles of well-known standards across a variety of genres that can be used in conjunction with the Music Icon desktop application. Tripleoptic designed and developed the user interface for the online store and created a variety of visual mock-ups illustrating how Music Icon can be integrated with well-known music games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
